Our Bootcamp for Newly Elected Officials is the best way for incoming municipal leaders to gain the knowledge they need to hit the ground running in their new role. We cover roles and responsibilities, ethics and conflicts of interest, conduct of meetings, budgeting, strategic planning, economic development and much, much more. As added bonus, this bootcamp fulfills the Fiscal Officer Training requirement for the Wyoming Department of Audit. We’ve got engaging breakout presentations on everything from the state of gaming in Wyoming to exciting state-level efforts to help you be more successful seeking grant dollars for your next project.

We’re excited to welcome Andrew McCrea as this year’s keynote speaker. Andrew has traveled the country for decades as the Oscar-winning host of American Countryside, and he’s here to share some of the innovative ways communities around the country are reinventing and revitalizing themselves with his presentation “The Total Town Makeover.”

Of course the other big reason we’re inviting you to Cheyenne this time of year is so you might have the opportunity to interact with the 68th Wyoming Legislature, and we’ll have multiple touches throughout the event. From our Local Leaders Legislative Reception on Thursday night, to a full morning of events onsite at the Capitol Friday, we’ll be giving you ample opportunity to make your voice heard as the legislature considers a myriad of local-impact bills this session.
