2025 Hell on Wheels Rodeo Contestant Registration

Thank you for entering the Hell on Wheels Rodeo! This is our sixth season, and we’re excited to make it bigger and better than ever. If you have questions or need help with entries, call us at 307-630-4821.

How to Enter

We’ve made entering easier this year! You can sign up online or by phone before each rodeo. You can also pre-enter online for future rodeos.

  • Online entries open Sunday before the rodeo at 8 a.m. and close Monday at 5 p.m.
    • Phone entries open Monday before the rodeo from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Call 307-630-4821 to enter by phone.
    • Priority: Online entries are taken first for the main performance.

Event Limits

  • 8 contestants per performance for:
    • Bareback riding
    • Steer wrestling
    • Breakaway roping
    • Bronc riding
    • Calf roping
    • Team roping
    • Barrel racing
  • 10 contestants for Bull Riding
  • 5 contestants for Novice Bulls

There is no slack for roughstock events. Calf roping and steer wrestling are limited to 16 total entries (performance & slack), with online entries getting priority. If an event fills up, we’ll start a waitlist—call 307-630-4821 to be added.

No Entry Limits

There is no cap on entries for:

  • Breakaway roping (WPRA approved)
  • Team roping
  • Barrel racing

Approvals & Added Money

  • All events are WRA approved, and earnings count toward their standings.
  • Breakaway Roping  is WPRA approved. 
  • $400 added money per event ($800 for team roping, $200 for novice bulls) thanks to our amazing sponsors. Please support them!
  • An Usher Brand saddle sponsored by Scott and Crystal Turley and Boots on the Ground Productions will go to the all-around champion (must win money in two events to qualify).
  • High money winners in each event will receive Hell on Wheels championship buckles.

Schedule & Check-In

  • Slack starts immediately after the performance in the same order as the rodeo (no roughstock slack).
  • One entry per person per event.
  • Contestants MUST check in with the rodeo secretary before their event. Failure to check in will result in being turned out and forfeiting entry fees.
  • Hell on Wheels Release Form is required before competing, including calf scramble participants.
    • Contestants under 18 must have a release signed by a legal guardian.

  • All contestants must submit a W9 form before competing. Download one [here].

Contestant Tickets -New this Year

  • All non-contestants entering the grounds need a ticket this year.
  • Your entry is good for your admission and one additional person
  • Contestants can buy up to 4 discounted tickets for $10 each. Choose the number of tickets you need below before checking out. We will have a list of tickets at the contestant gate.
  • Gate tickets will be $30 NO EXCEPTIONS.

Other Important Info

  • The Laramie County Fairgrounds are now gated. Contestants will enter at the south gate only. The south gate is at the intersection of Prairie Center Circle and HR Ranch Road. 
  • Western attire is mandatory for all contestants.
  • Draw will be posted online at [www.hellonwheelsrodeo.com] and on our Facebook page.
  • Pre-payment is required to confirm your entry. Payment can be made via credit card (processing fee applies).
  • Free BBQ for contestants! Thanks to Dickey’s BBQ Pit, all entered contestants get free BBQ at 5:30 p.m. in the brown building on the northeast side of the arena.

Phone entries will be open the Monday before the rodeo 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. only. Entering your name in the box below outside of the above times, does not constitute an entry into the rodeo.
